Keepers share knowledge about the how the Healing Forest supports reconciliation at several conferences.
Keepers Val Vint, Deb Radi and Rachelle Carlisle traveled to Banff, Alberta On May 6, 2023 to present about Kapabamayak Achaak Healing Forest at the inaugural Outdoor Learning Conference.
The theme was “Place and Pedagogy: Where Learning Happens.” It was a great opportunity for networking and learning about land-based practices across the country. Our group presentation provided us a space to share about KAHF inspiring participants to create healing forests in their local communities.
At a National Healing Forest webinar with David Suzuki Foundation (DSF) on December 2, 2022, KAHF Keepers gave a presentation for new DSF Healing Forest grant recipients on our learnings and developmental process.
KAHF Keepers also offered a presentation at the Aboriginal Education Research Forum entitled “Manifesting Authentic Stories; we Continue to Create and Share through Indigenous Research, Teaching and Community Lifeways: Virtual & Real Time” on May 2 & 3, 2022.
Learn more about how the Healing Forest and its Keepers serve the community in our 2023 annual report.
